Home to Taproot Pottery is Starkville, MS. Taproot Pottery was started in 2018 in the midst of learning to be at home in motherhood with a 2 year old and a newborn in a studio my husband built at our house in town. Three years later, we began building a home on some land we bought to grow into our homeschooling journey as well as our farming journey. This season meant packing my pottery studio into a storage unit and living in a camper for almost a year. A long but beautifully shaping year passed and we were in our home and got to welcome our fourth daughter in it. This is our place. The Common Place, we like to call it. And it’s from this place, with our family firmly rooted and growing slowly in it, as well as our community -Taproot Pottery gets its flavor. If you follow along with our story on Instagram, I’m sure you’ll get a taste of it. Taproot grows in the nooks and crannies of our life out here together - kind of like a surprising yet delightful wildflower in an unlikely pocket of soil.

“And the world cannot be discovered by a journey of miles, no matter how long, but only by a spiritual journey, a journey of one inch, very arduous and humbling and joyful, by which we arrive at the ground at our own feet, and learn to be at home.”
